Karpowership Ghana has handed over a fully renovated boys’ dormitory to the Osu Children’s Home in Accra, marking a significant investment in the welfare and dignity of children under state care.

The renovated facility—House One Home Unit—has undergone a complete transformation, including new tiling, carpentry and masonry works, plumbing repairs, painting, and the installation of new beds, mattresses, doors, windows, and ceiling fans. As part of the ceremony, Karpowership also donated food items and confectionery, adding joy and support to the Home’s daily needs.

The Member of Parliament for La Dade-Kotopon and Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, praised Karpowership for what she described as a “remarkable show of corporate responsibility and compassion”, noting that the renovation of the boys’ dormitory would provide the children with a conducive place to sleep, help them rejuvenate, and improve their overall well-being. She encouraged more companies to emulate the initiative, stressing that supporting vulnerable children is a collective duty.

Representing the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, the Deputy Director for Children’s Welfare, Madam Agnes Abolimpoh, expressed profound appreciation to Karpowership for the renovation.

“This project directly enhances the well-being and dignity of the boys in this Home. We are grateful for this timely and meaningful intervention”. She added that the gesture reinforces the adage that it takes a community to raise a child.

The Manager of the Osu Children’s Home, Mr. Reindorf Dartey, also expressed heartfelt gratitude. He noted that House One had not seen any major renovation since its construction.

“What Karpowership has done here has completely transformed the living conditions of the boys. This is truly a blessing for the Home,” he said.

Delivering brief remarks, the Managing Director of Karpowership Ghana, Ing. Oscar Amonoo-Neizer, said the renovation reflects the company’s strong belief in community partnership.

He emphasised that Karpowership does far more than provide electricity.

“At Karpowership, we are not just powering homes—we are passionate about powering lives. Restoring this space means giving these children hope, dignity, and a better chance at a brighter future,” he said.

He explained that the decision to renovate the boys’ dormitory was guided by direct consultations with the Home and reaffirmed Karpowership’s broader contributions to education, youth development, and community infrastructure across Ghana.

The event also featured a delightful highlight as Santa Claus made a surprise appearance, sharing goodies, confectionaries, and treats with the children—filling the Home with excitement and festive cheer.

The ceremony ended with gratitude from caregivers, children, and community stakeholders as Karpowership Ghana extended warm Christmas and New Year wishes to all present.
