Ing. Ken Ashigbey exits as the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications and the Digital Chamber of Ghana at the end of May 2025.
Ing. Ken Ashigbey’s exit marks the end of nearly eight years of dedicated leadership that significantly shaped the country’s telecommunications and digital financial sectors.
In a joint statement, the two chambers expressed deep appreciation for Ing. Ken Ashigbey’s contributions, describing his tenure as transformative.
They highlighted his passion, visionary leadership, and commitment to excellence, which they say not only elevated industry standards but also supported national economic growth.
“As he steps into his next chapter, the two Chambers wish Dr Ashigbey continued success and fulfilment,” the statement said.
It further added that both institutions remain committed to strengthening advocacy, enhancing stakeholder collaboration, and driving innovation to benefit all Ghanaians.
The release indicated that during the transition period, all correspondence relating to the Chamber’s leadership should be directed to the Chairman of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications.
The chambers noted that details regarding the appointment of a new CEO will be communicated in due course.
The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications serves as the collective voice of Ghana’s mobile telecom and technology industry, with a mission to advance telecommunications and mobile financial services through strategic advocacy and partnerships.
In 2016, the Institute of Certified Economists of Ghana (ICEG) conferred the highest grade of Fellow on Ashigbey as the Managing Director of Graphic Communications Group Limited.
The award is in recognition of his professional contribution to the media landscape, as well as the engineering domain. The fellow award, which is the highest recognition by ICEG, was conferred on him in his office.
A citation presented to him read, “In today’s demanding and competitive business world, it takes more than brains and hard work to get along. Those who succeed have another quality in common; emotional intelligence.”
“Your high sense of purpose and responsibility, professionalism, emotional intelligence, excellence and tenacity have further enhanced and repositioned the reputation and brand of Graphic Communications Group Limited.”
