The prosecution, therefore, prayed for a date.

The court, presided over by Nana Abena Asoh Owusu-Omenyo, adjourned the matter.

The accused persons: Bright Aweh, aka Highest Bright, the first accused, and Thomas Zigah, the second accused person, are standing trial for their involvement in the murder of Amoah.

Having legal representation in court, the accused persons have been slapped with charges of conspiracy to murder and murder.

The court did not take their pleas but remanded them into lawful custody.

Aweh and Zigah faced fierce resistance from relatives of the deceased.

Relatives, dressed in red, black and white T-shirts, rained insults on the accused persons.

The two accused persons are on remand for their various roles in the murder of Amoah, who went missing on July 3, 2025, after leaving home to meet Aweh at Ashongman Estates.

The body of the Immigration Officer was discovered days later in a drain at Abom Junction.

Investigations revealed that the meeting was arranged following WhatsApp exchanges involving images of cash, allegedly to settle a debt.

Aweh claimed he gave Amoah GHC500,000 to pay off a debt and retain the balance, but inconsistencies in his account raised suspicion.

He was initially charged with kidnapping and later arrested for murder after the police found a bloodstained camouflage fabric and a fufu pestle wrapped in polythene at his residence.

Zigah’s arrest followed weeks of investigations. Both accused persons are now facing charges of conspiracy to murder and murder.
