Nana Agradaa has been jailed to 15 years in prison for fraud. Newscenta.com presents the facts of the case.

On October 10, 2022, complainants reported to the Police that Nana Agradaa demanded and received various sums of money from them under the pretext of giving them various sums of money in return.

The Police on receipt of the information commenced investigations which led to the arrest of Agradaa, the fetish priestess turned evangelist.

Investigations established that on October 5, 2022, Agradaa advertised on Today’s TV and other social media platforms that she was organising an all-night service on October 7, 2022 at Heaven Way Champions International Ministry where she was going to share an amount of GH₵300, 000 to all participants who needed money for business or pay rent.

Agradaa displayed the bundles of money during the advert and encouraged the public  to attend the service for their share of the money.

Due to the said false representation, made in the advertisements on the media platforms, complainants and others came from far and near for the all night service.

During the all night service, Agradaa directed the congregation to form groups of 20 members and each member was to pay an amount of money starting from GH₵1,000 and below.

The court was told that Agradaa informed them that each group would be given GH₵50,000 to share and another group she would give GH₵40,000 to also share.

The Prosecution said based on that, some groups would received GH₵25,000 to also share among themselves.

Again, some of the people parted with various sums of money.

The Prosecution said Agradaa after obtaining those, sums of money from them didn’t fulfil her promise to return their money.

The complainant therefore got stranded at the church premises.

The Prosecution said investigations revealed that Agradaa undertook the charlatanic advertisements with intent to defraud unsuspecting complainants.

The court was told that Agradaa “admitted the complainant’s assertion as correct.”
