Preparations are underway for the burial of Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation and MP for Tamale Central, and Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, two victims of the recent helicopter crash that claimed multiple lives and left the nation in mourning.

Family sources confirmed that the final funeral rites will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, in line with Islamic tradition, with prayers and interment expected to be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra, followed by burial at 2:30 p.m. at the Military Cemetery, Accra.

Relatives, friends, and well-wishers are expected to gather to pay their last respects, while community leaders and dignitaries are also anticipated to attend.

The solemn ceremony will reflect both the personal loss to the families and the collective grief shared by the community.

The tragic helicopter crash has sparked an outpouring of condolences from across the country. Various leaders, including members of the National Cathedral Board, religious figures, and political representatives, have extended messages of comfort to the bereaved families.

As the families of Alhaji Muniru and Murtala prepare to lay them to rest, the nation continues to keep them in thoughts and prayers, seeking healing and strength in the face of this devastating loss.
