President John Dramani Mahama has heaped praise on the dynamic leadership of Sammy Gyamfi, the current head of Goldbod Ghana Limited, highlighting the company’s swift impact in the gold sector just months after its restructuring.

Speaking in the Ahafo Region as part of his national ‘Thank You’ tour, Mahama emphasised that Goldbod, under the capable direction of Sammy Gyamfi, has already begun to “do wonders” in terms of local value addition, job creation, and ethical gold mining practices.

Mahama said “Mr. Sammy Gyamfi is the Chief Executive of the Ghana Goldbod that is doing wonders already.”

The Ghana GoldBoard(Goldbod), formerly known as the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), was officially launched on April 2, 2025. It was established with a mandate to oversee and regulate gold trading activities across the country.

Goldbod is already making notable strides, achieving results that President Mahama has lauded as remarkable.

Goldbod Ghana Limited, formerly a dormant state entity, was revived by Sammy Gyamfi with a clear mandate to ensure sustainable gold mining, fair trade practices, and community development.

Since taking over as CEO, Sammy a lawyer and national communications officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has steered the company toward innovation and transparency.
