Accra Hearts of Oak defeated rivals Asante Kotoko 2-0 in the final match of the 2025 Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Top 4 tournament.

Frank Duku and Emmanuel Amankwah scored a goal each to help the Phobians defeat the Porcupine Warriors in a thrilling contest at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak were highly impressive in the first half of the game, and the weak defensive of Kotoko play allowed them to score the first goal in four minutes, through Duku.

Asante Kotoko, who were yet to win a game in the tournament, struggled to create chances in the first half, with striker Kwame Poku frequently isolated up front.

The Porcupine Warriors came back strong in the second half of the game as they pressed for the equaliser with the Phobians mostly on the back foot.

However, it was the Phobians who extended their lead in the closing minutes of the match, thanks to Amankwah’s close-range finish, which won the game for his team.

The Phobians finished the tournament with seven points, the same as defending league champions Bibiani Gold Stars, who went on to win the competition on the head-to-head rule.

Earlier in the competition, Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Hearts of Oak 5-4 on penalties after regulation time ended two all.

Heart of Lions finished the tournament with four points, while Asante Kotoko had no points after three matches.
