For years, Prince Adusei worked in the dangerous pits of Ghana’s illegal small-scale mining industry, commonly known as galamsey, earning GH¢150 a day under harsh conditions. Today, he’s trading his shovel for financial freedom thanks to a GH¢6 bet on betPawa’s Aviator platform that turned into a staggering GH¢2 million.

Prince made the life-changing win in what he describes as an “unbelievable moment.”

After placing a GH¢6 Aviator bet, his network cut out. When it returned, the unimaginable had happened; he had won millions. But even then, doubt lingered.

“I turned off my phone. I thought it was a scam,” Prince said. “To check if it was real, I withdrew GH¢5,000 and it came through. I did it again. Same thing. That’s when I knew my life had changed.”

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, July 16, Prince revealed that he has not returned to the mining site since the win and never will.

“The win has given me a second chance,” he said. “I’ve seen what life outside galamsey can look like. I’m not going back.”

Prince’s story formed the emotional highlight of betPawa’s unveiling of Africa’s biggest Aviator winners.

From Ghana, Cameroon, and Zambia, everyday people with modest bets walked away with extraordinary wins.

In Zambia, Sydny, a driver, won over 3 million Kwacha with a 7 Kwacha bet.

In Cameroon, several winners cashed out hundreds of thousands of dollars from stakes as low as 100 FCFA.

But it was Prince’s decision to step away from mining, one of Ghana’s most controversial and dangerous industries, that struck a powerful chord.

“BIG wins are not just about money,” said Borah Ndanyungu, betPawa’s Head of Local Marketing and CSR.

“They’re about changing lives. Prince’s story proves that a small stake can become a new beginning.”

betPawa didn’t stop at the payout. As part of its commitment to responsible gaming and sustainable impact, the company is partnering with the Gaming Commission of Ghana and financial advisors to guide BIG winners like Prince through smart investment strategies and long-term planning.

The winners were also treated to a true VIP experience complete with luxury accommodation, custom gifts, and an unforgettable private jet flight over Ghana.
