An Accra High Court will on July 18, 2025, commence the full trial of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, a former Director of the National Signals Bureau, and three others.
The Court fixed the date after it had dismissed the accused persons’ request for national security accounts since 1992.
The Court presided over by Justice John Nyante Nyadu said the accused persons, had not provided any justification for the request to be granted.
The Court said the full ruling could be applied for on Monday, July 7, 2025.
The Court said following the closure of prosecution disclosures and the conclusion of their Case Management Conference, prosecution should start their case (trial) in two weeks.
The accused persons on June 23 filed an application for certain documents to be disclosed by the prosecution.
Per their request, they are asking among other things for a “further order that the Attorney-General should make full disclosure and produce for inspection and making copies of the various National Security Coordinators’ special operations accounts.”
The accused person together with his wife and two others are facing 11 charges, including stealing, money laundering of GH¢49.1 million in State funds, willfully causing financial loss to the State, conspiracy, collaboration to commit crime, and abuse of public office.
They have all pleaded not guilty and were granted bail with different terms.
