Food poisoning claims: Dr Kumah’s wife invites police to investigate

Following allegations of suspected food poisoning, the widow of Dr. John Kumah, Apostle Lilian Kumah, has taken decisive action by filing a case with the Accra Central Police Headquarters, seeking an investigation into allegations surrounding her husband’s death.

Dr. John Kumah, a lawmaker representing Ejisu, passed away under circumstances sparking speculation of foul play.

Allegations of food poisoning have circulated, with radio presenter Captain Smart having made such claims before the death of the lawmaker.

In weeks-old audio and video clips, Captain Smart suggested a sinister plot to poison Dr. Kumah and other political figures, including Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and Chairman Wontumi.

Another radio presenter Oheneba Nana Asiedu also alleged that the late Deputy Finance Minister John Kumah was poisoned through guinea fowl meat in Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region.

He claimed that the main target of the alleged poisoning was Chairman Wontumi.

These accusations have resurfaced following Dr. Kumah’s demise, casting a shadow over his legacy and family.

Expressing profound concern over the damage caused by these allegations, Apostle Lilian Kumah implored the Ghana Police Service to conduct a thorough investigation into the claims.

She seeks to bring justice to her husband’s memory.

Reports indicate that Dr. Kumah fell ill during Independence Day celebrations in his constituency, prompting his transfer to Accra for medical attention.

Tragically, his condition deteriorated en route, and he passed away at the Suhum Government Hospital.

His sudden demise has plunged the community of Ejisu into mourning, with an outpouring of support for his family.

As the investigation unfolds and the community grapples with grief, Dr. Kumah’s legacy as a dedicated public servant, accomplished politician and community leader remains steadfast, leaving an enduring impact on all who knew him.
