Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is scheduled to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Wednesday, November 13, 2025.
The proposed date, awaiting parliamentary approval, will mark the government’s first major budget presentation since its 2024 election victory and nine months of steering the economy.
The 2026 budget is expected to outline the government’s fiscal policies, revenue targets, and expenditure priorities for the upcoming financial year.
It will also detail key strategies to sustain economic recovery, stabilise the cedi, and stimulate growth in critical sectors.
Focusing on economic resilience, job creation, and social protection, the government maintains its commitment to prudent fiscal management and inclusive development.
Dr Forson is also expected to provide updates on Ghana’s medium-term macroeconomic framework, progress under ongoing IMF-supported reforms, and initiatives to enhance domestic revenue mobilisation.
Additionally, the budget will highlight the government’s plans for infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and the digital economy.
In line with constitutional requirements, the national budget to be presented by the Finance Minister must be at least one month before the end of the financial year.
This ensures lawmakers have sufficient time to debate, review, and approve expenditure estimates ahead of implementation in January 2026.
Stakeholders across economic and business sectors are closely monitoring the upcoming presentation, viewing it as a key signal of Ghana’s post-recovery policy direction amid ongoing global economic challenges.
