Ghana’s Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, is expected to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Wednesday, November 13, 2025.

The proposed date, pending parliamentary approval, will mark the government’s first major budget presentation since its 2024 election victory and nine months of managing the economy.

The presentation will outline the government’s fiscal policies, revenue projections, and expenditure priorities for the 2026 financial year.

It will also highlight key measures aimed at sustaining economic recovery, stabilising the cedi, and boosting growth across critical sectors.

The upcoming budget will focus on economic resilience, job creation, and social protection. The government remains committed to prudent fiscal management and measures that promote inclusive development.

The Finance Minister is expected to provide updates on the country’s medium-term macroeconomic framework, progress made under ongoing IMF-supported reforms, and strategies to improve domestic revenue mobilisation in the budget.

The presentation will also shed light on the government’s plans for infrastructure development, education, health, agriculture, and the digital economy.

As per constitutional requirements, the annual budget must be laid before Parliament at least one month before the end of the financial year.

This allows legislators time to debate, scrutinise, and approve expenditure estimates before implementation begins in January 2026.

Stakeholders across the economic and business sectors are keenly awaiting the presentation, viewing it as a key indicator of Ghana’s post-recovery direction amid global economic uncertainties.
