Fidelity Bank’s Orange Women’s Network supports families at Korle-Bu NICU

The Orange Women’s Network (OWN) at Fidelity Bank, has supported 49 families at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
The gesture, to mark the festive season, included financial, and material support to ease the burden on the beneficiaries dealing with challenges of neonatal care.
OWN donated feeding accessories, baby clothes, and other essentials. The financial assistance covered the cost of discharge, medicines, and laboratory bills for the newborns.
The group also provided counselling, with members sharing real-life experiences about child birth.
Ms Esi Mills-Robertson, a lead founder of OWN and Marketing Director at Fidelity Bank, said the initiative was to comfort the mothers and babies in “a challenging time.”
“The festive season should be a time of joy and celebration. However, it can be a period of immense stress and anxiety for families with newborns in the NICU. We are proud of OWN for their compassionate initiative,” she said.
OWN provided essentials such as gloves, purple cannulas, plasters, packs of tissues, and gallons of liquid soap to the members of staff at NICU.
“We understand the emotional and financial toll that neonatal care can take on families.
“We believe that by easing their burdens, we can help parents focus on the well-being of their babies,” Ms Mills-Robertson added.
Established in 2016, OWN empowers women within Fidelity Bank Ghana through professional development, mentorship, and capacity-building programmes.
Activities include mentoring programmes, leadership series, and collaborations with other institutions and organisations.
By fostering inclusivity and personal growth, OWN continues to be a catalyst for meaningful change within the Bank and the broader community.
