EC: We’ve not started printing ballot papers

The Electoral Commission (EC) has dismissed claims that it has commenced the printing of ballot papers for the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
In a statement issued by Mr. Samuel Tettey, the Deputy EC Chair in Charge of Operations, the Commission acknowledged rumors suggesting that necessary ballot statistics had not been provided before the alleged printing began.

Clarification from the EC
“We would like to assure the General Public that the printing of ballot papers has not commenced,” the statement emphasized. However, the EC confirmed that the printing of Notices of Poll for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections was set to begin on Friday, October 11, 2024.
The EC also reaffirmed its commitment to following established procedures, stating that before any printing of ballot papers begins, the Commission will provide ballot statistics to candidates, political parties, and printing houses.
The EC made it clear that this practice will not be abandoned, assuring the public that the election process would be conducted with transparency.

Preparations for December 7 Elections
The EC is preparing to re-exhibit the Provisional Voters’ Register online, allowing voters to verify their details ahead of finalizing the roll for the December 7 elections.
On Election Day, Ghanaian voters will elect a president and members of Parliament for the 276 constituencies.
