The Management of Ghana Water Ltd. (GWL) has announced an interruption in water supply to parts of the North-Eastern corridor of Accra following a fire outbreak at the Dodowa Booster Station.
According to GWL, the incident has compelled a temporary shutdown of operations at the facility to allow for comprehensive repair works. Engineers are currently on site, working tirelessly to restore the system to full functionality.
The Dodowa Booster Station serves several communities, and the shutdown is expected to affect a wide range of areas.
Residents in East Legon, Agbogba, Haatso, Atomic, Frafraha, Ashaley Botwe, Adjiringanor, Ashongman, Dome, Adenta, Madina, Oyarifa, and surrounding areas may experience low water pressure or a complete interruption in supply.
GWL has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen development and has assured customers that every effort is being made to rectify the fault in the shortest time possible.
As part of mitigation measures, the company is putting in place alternative arrangements to ensure an uninterrupted water supply to essential institutions, including schools and hospitals.
