The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has confirmed that the delayed education sector allowances have now been paid.

The Department explained that the delay resulted from a technical issue encountered during the final payroll run for November 2025.

To ensure that the salaries of all Government of Ghana workers for November were not disrupted, processing of the affected education sector allowances was temporarily paused.

Initially, the CAGD had indicated that the outstanding allowances would be paid alongside December 2025 salaries on 18 December. However, the Department has now clarified that the payments were made earlier, on 16 December, together with the December salaries.

In a statement, the CAGD expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the delay and reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing payroll systems to prevent similar issues in the future. The Department also extended its appreciation to affected workers for their patience and understanding during the period of the delay.

The payments cover allowances owed to education sector workers whose November 2025 remuneration was affected by the technical hiccup. The Department assured that all affected workers have now received the full amount due.

The CAGD stressed that the timely payment of salaries and allowances remains a top priority, and it is actively implementing measures to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy across all government ministries and agencies.

Workers are encouraged to report any discrepancies in their payments to their respective payroll units for prompt resolution.

With the completion of these payments, the Department aims to restore confidence in the payroll process and prevent disruptions that could affect the livelihoods of government employees.

The CAGD reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring smooth and timely disbursement of salaries and allowances in the future.
