The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of two suspects, including a Canadian national, in connection with an alleged arson attack at a residence in Oyarifa.
In a press release dated December 27, 2025, the Police said the Greater Accra Regional Command arrested the suspects for causing unlawful damage at Oyarifa Anointed Down.
The suspects were identified as Jennifer Mae Tomlinson, a Canadian citizen, and her Ghanaian boyfriend, Mohammed Issah. Issah was arrested on December 23, 2025, the same day the incident occurred, while Tomlinson was apprehended two days later, on December 25, after allegedly going into hiding.

According to police, preliminary investigations suggest the two (Canadian woman and boyfriend), who were tenants of the Oyarifa apartment, deliberately set the property ablaze on December 23, 2025, resulting in its complete destruction.
The police noted that the act was carried out without any apparent provocation.
Mohammed Issah was arrested by officers from the Ayimensah Abokobi Police shortly after the incident, while Tomlinson was later traced and arrested from her hideout.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned before the court to face charges in accordance with the law.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the CID.
