Bryan Acheampong, Member of Parliament for Abetifi has appealed to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to bury their differences that emerged after the 2024 general election and forge ahead victory in subsequent elections.
“Now is the time to rise above factions and forge a new path built on collaboration, courage and credibility. As we prepare to reposition our Party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), we must stay focused on efforts to rebuild and rebrand”.
In a press statement, Mr Acheampong said tensions had risen, evident through exchanges on social media and while passionate political discourse was natural, division and hostility only served to weaken us.
“What is required of us all, and in particular the leadership of the party, is to ensure that hope is restored-through unity of purpose, maturity in conduct, and discipline in our ranks- as we canvass for a renewed energy and commitment to the course”.
Mr Acheampong urged party members, from the grassroots to the top leadership, to remember what bonded them and their shared values, love for country, and belief in a thriving Mother Ghana.
“Let us set aside personal differences, engage in constructive discourse, and stay committed to the values that brought us together. This is not just about moving past disagreements-it is about working together, disciplined and united, to build a stronger future for our party”.
Earlier, he emphasised the need for internal harmony, warning that disunity and public spats were hurting the party’s image.
Dr. Acheampong disclosed that he had formed a committee to consult with party members and Ghanaians to assess whether his personal vision aligns with the aspirations of the party and the public. The committee, he said, was given one month to conduct this consultation.
Outlining his key focus areas, he mentioned jobs, food security, youth development, and infrastructure as central to his vision, should he be given the opportunity to lead both the NPP and the nation.
