The senior women’s national team, Black Queens, have arrived in Cote d’Ivoire to continue their preparations for the delayed 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The team touched down in Côte d’Ivoire on Wednesday afternoon ahead of their two friendly games against the Ivorian women’s national team.
Head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren named a strong squad for the international break as he looks to put finishing touches to his team ahead of the continental showpiece to be staged in July in Morocco.
Some of the players who left with the team to Cote d’Ivoire included Louisa Aniwaa, who is being invited into the senior national team for the first time, as well as Afi Amenyeku.
Nancy Amoh, Princess Marfo and Cynthia Konlan are all with the team in Cote d’Ivoire.
The two matches are scheduled for May 30 and June 3, 2025, and will both be played away in Abidjan.
