Police in the Upper East Region are searching for Mark Agingre, a suspected serial killer wanted in connection with a string of brutal murders in the Binduri District and nearby areas.
In a statement issued on November 8, 2025, the Ghana Police Service confirmed that Agingre is suspected of murdering a family of five— a man, his wife, and three children— on November 7, 2025. A surviving child remains in critical condition at the Bolgatanga Government Hospital.
Investigators also link him to the October 27, 2025, killings of an elderly man and his two children in Binduri. According to the Police, preliminary findings suggest he may be behind “several other targeted killings” across the district.
To encourage public cooperation, authorities have offered a GH₵1 million reward for any credible information leading to his capture.
“Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest police station or call 191, 18555 immediately.
The Police assure the public that every effort is being made to track down the suspect and bring him to justice,” the statement read.
The announcement comes just a day after gunmen killed five people, including women and children, during curfew hours in Tengmasug, a Binduri suburb.
Witnesses say the assailants stormed a house and opened fire on the occupants.
Also, five people, including a radio presenter, were shot in Binduri when unidentified gunmen attacked their residence on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Three of the victims, including a five-year-old child, died instantly, while two others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Among the injured is George Bukari, the manager of Binduri-based Maxx Empire Radio and TV.
Residents say the attack is believed to be linked to the long-running Bawku conflict, which has claimed multiple lives and displaced several families since it erupted in November 2021.
In a separate development, a mentally challenged man was reportedly shot dead by military personnel at Daduri, a suburb of Bawku, further heightening tensions in the area.
