Bibiani Gold Stars emerged champions of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League after defeating Accra Lions 4-0 at the Dun’s Park.
Goals from Abdul Farouk Amoaful, Samuel Atta Kumi and Kelvin Oppong were enough for Gold Stars to secure all three points for their first league title.
Gold Stars finished top of the league with 63 points, three points ahead of Nations FC, who shockingly lost at home to Heart of Lions.
Nations FC entered the final of the season, in need of three points to bolster their chances of winning the first trophy.
But they fell short against a Hearts of Lions side who emerged 2-0 victors courtesy of of goals from Samuel Quansah and Seedorf Asante.
Asante Kotoko, who were also in the race to win the title, fell short after losing 3-1 against Vision FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku Sports Complex.
Emmanuel Antwi opened the scoring for the Porcupine Warriors in the first half, but Frank Duku’s brace and a goal from Edmond Asante ensured an impressive comeback from the home side.
Accra Hearts of Oak finished the season with a 1-0 win against Samartex FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Konadu Yiadom’s second-half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Phobians, who finished fifth on the league table.
Dreams FC recorded a massive 4-1 victory against Legon Cities, while Aduana FC finished their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Basake Holy Stars.
After the last round of matches, relegation for Accra Lions and Legon Cities has been confirmed, likewise for Nsoatreman, who withdrew from the league.
The final round of matches of the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season saw four teams competing for the ultimate title.
