The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a strong warning to the public to disregard a fake job recruitment circular that is currently being circulated on social media and other online platforms.

According to the GES, the fraudulent notice falsely claims to offer teaching and non-teaching positions within the Service.

The scammers are said to be luring unsuspecting applicants with promises of guaranteed employment, while requesting various forms of payment during the process.

The fake document falsely claims that financial clearance has been granted for the recruitment of 50,000 teaching and non-teaching staff.

Management confirmed that no such recruitment exercise has been announced.

In an official statement dated September 21, 2025, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, the Head of Public Relations, the Service stated that the letter is “FAKE and did not originate from GES.”

The GES stressed that it has not announced any new recruitment exercise and urged the public to treat such information as false.

The Service further reminded job seekers that all legitimate recruitment notices are published exclusively on its official website and through accredited media outlets.

The GES also cautioned that anyone who deals with such fraudsters does so at their own risk, and encouraged victims to report the scammers to the police for the necessary investigations.

This is not the first time recruitment fraud has targeted the education sector. Authorities have repeatedly warned job seekers to remain vigilant, as scammers continue to exploit high unemployment and desperation among the youth.

The GES reaffirmed its commitment to transparent recruitment processes, assuring the public that any future opportunities will be duly announced through official and credible channels.
