Angela List, a shareholder of BCM Ghana Limited, has issued a strong statement refuting recent media reports that she employed “thugs” or “landguards” in an alleged attack at the company’s Spintex facility.

Clarifying the events that happened, she described the police presence at the facility as a lawful intervention to prevent the theft of company equipment.

List specifically addressed reports from two newspapers, The Insight and The Daily Democrat, on August 4, labelling them as “false and defamatory.”

She stated that the Ghana Police Service acted “fully within their statutory mandate” to stop individuals from “unlawfully dismantling and theft of BCM equipment.”

The police intervention was not an act of violence, but a necessary measure to protect company assets.

The statement highlights that BCM Ghana Limited’s assets are currently under the protection of a Court of Appeal order.

The order, the statement says, explicitly prohibits the disposal of any company property without the court’s approval and notification to the respondents.

This order, which was issued on May 26, 2025, she insists, remains in full force.

According to her, the individuals attempting to remove company equipment were in direct violation of this court order, engaging in acts that could be considered theft, asset stripping, and contempt of court.

She asserts that portraying the lawful intervention as “violence” is an attempt to distract from these illegal actions.

List also issued a strong warning to the public and the media, stressing that BCM’s assets are not for sale under any circumstances and that anyone attempting to purchase them does so at their own risk.

She also vowed to pursue legal action to recover any unlawfully sold assets and warned that buyers would face the legal and financial consequences.

Furthermore, she warned that media outlets that continue to publish such content without due diligence could face legal action under Ghana’s defamation laws.

The statement concluded with a promise to take legal action against any individual or organisation that attempts to unlawfully appropriate company assets or damage its reputation.
