He served as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and was also a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.

Following his death, the body of the late MP has been conveyed to his residence at Spintex, where family members are meeting to finalise funeral and burial arrangements in line with Islamic customs and traditions.

A steady stream of mourners has since gathered at the residence to commiserate with the family and pay tribute to Toure’s service to his constituency and the country.

The janazah prayers are scheduled for Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., after which he will be laid to rest.

Mahama was a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In 2012, he contested for the Ayawaso East seat on the ticket of the NDC sixth parliament of the fourth republic and won.

Mahama won the Parliamentary seat for Ayawaso East in the 2024 general election with a total of 22,139 (70.85%).
