Assemblies of God reaffirms call to ceaseless prayer

The Assemblies of God, Ghana’s Greater Accra East Region has reinforced the significance of continuous prayer as a tool for spiritual strength and national development at its 7th Regional Council Meeting.

The event, which took place from March 31 to April 4 at Aggar Resort, brought together church leaders, clergy, and congregants to discuss strategies for growth and encourage unwavering faith in the face of societal challenges.
Speaking at the meeting, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, urged Ghanaians to intercede for the country’s leadership, emphasizing that governance is a demanding task that requires divine intervention.

”Leadership is not easy, and those entrusted with the affairs of the nation need wisdom and strength. As Christians, we have a responsibility to support them through prayer,” she stated.
The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Dr. Stephen Yenusom Wengham, also called on members to uphold the church’s mission through steadfast prayer and obedience to the law.
He further announced a global Assemblies of God conference to be hosted in Ghana, describing it as a momentous occasion for both the church and the country.
”This international conference will bring together delegates from across the world, creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and spiritual revival.
More importantly, it will boost Ghana’s tourism sector, as visitors will experience our rich cultural heritage and hospitality,” he noted.
He urged stakeholders, including government and private sector players, to support the church in making the event a success.

The Regional Superintendent for the Greater Accra East Region, Dr. Andrews N. Awintia, echoed the importance of faith and perseverance, citing the theme of the meeting—”Pray Without Ceasing for Supernatural Manifestations” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)—as a reminder of the church’s duty to remain spiritually vigilant.
”Prayer is our anchor. In these uncertain times, we must stay connected to God and seek His intervention for both the church and the nation,” he stressed.
The 7th Regional Council Meeting reaffirmed the Assemblies of God’s commitment to spiritual growth, national transformation, and fostering a global network of faith-based collaboration.
