Nana B demands justice for victim of gunshots

National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has demanded that the police identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for firing gunshots at the Kukuom registration centre.
His call for action came during a visit to the Sunyani Teaching Hospital, where he checked on a young man who was critically injured during the incident and is fighting for his life.
Nana Boakye’s visit to the hospital was part of his ongoing monitoring of the voter registration exercise.
He was in Kukuom to support and motivate NPP supporters, reassuring them of the party’s steadfast backing amid the violence allegedly perpetrated by supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
While in the Bono Region, Nana Boakye also visited border constituencies such as Dormaa West and Dormaa Central.
He accused NDC MPs Collins Dauda and Eric Opoku of leading armed NDC supporters who fired gunshots at the Kukuom registration centre in the Asunafo South District of the Ahafo Region.
He expressed shock and disappointment that the police had released the vehicles used by the alleged perpetrators.
The vehicles in question included a white Toyota Tundra (registration number BA-8008-20) belonging to Collins Dauda, a red Toyota Hilux (registration number GN-3272-15), an unregistered red Camry Spider, a Nissan Assent salon car, and a black and yellow Dodge 4×4.
Boakye urged the police leadership at headquarters to take swift action against perpetrators of the violence.
He criticized the apparent impunity with which NDC supporters acted and called on the police to address this issue promptly to prevent further violence during the voter registration exercises.
“It is very worrying that the NDC seems to be creating the impression that they have a license to unleash violence in the Ahafo areas during Voter Registration Exercises, and we implore the Police to curb this menace as soon as possible,” Nana Boakye emphasized.
