Ghana Gas shuts down for 17 days planned maintenance

The Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown of its Gas Processing Plant (GPP) and offshore gas export facilities from August today August 1 to 17.
This routine maintenance is essential to ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of its operations.
The planned shutdown is part of Ghana Gas’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high operational standards and preventing unexpected disruptions.
During the maintenance period, comprehensive inspections and necessary upgrades to the infrastructure will be carried out, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.
This process is crucial for identifying potential issues and implementing corrective measures to enhance the overall performance of the gas facilities.
Ghana Gas has indicated that there will be a lean gas supply from the Sankofa Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) to the Takoradi Distribution Station (TDS) during the maintenance period.
In a press statement signed by Ghana Gas’ Head of Corporate Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, the company assured stakeholders that every effort would be made to complete the maintenance within the specified timeframe to minimize any impact on gas supply.
Additionally, Ghana Gas has coordinated closely with its partners and stakeholders to mitigate the effects of the shutdown on the energy sector and the general public.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience the maintenance shutdown might cause and apologized for any disruptions, emphasizing that the temporary inconvenience is necessary for the long-term benefit of maintaining a safe and reliable gas supply.
