DCOP Donkor is new CID boss; COP Tiwaa, others get new posts

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has undertaken a significant reshuffle of Regional Commanders and members of the Police Board.
This decision comes less than a week after he assumed office, replacing Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
A statement issued in Accra announced several key appointments.
Chief Superintendent Solomon A. Korli has been named as the Executive Secretary to the IGP, while Chief Superintendent Kudjo Aboagye takes up the position of Chief Staff Officer to the IGP.
One of the most notable changes is the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor as the new Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Additionally, Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah has been reassigned as the Director-General of Research and Planning.

Key appointments and reassignments
Several senior officers have been reassigned to new roles within the Police Service.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Paul Manly Awini has been appointed to oversee the Service Workshop in Accra, while Commissioner of Police (COP) Daniel Kwame Afriyie assumes the role of Director-General of PSO.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Ernest Kwabena Owusu has been named Director-General of SVCS, with Commissioner of Police (COP) Mohammed Fuseini Suraji taking charge as Director-General of NPD.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Sayibu Pabi Gariba has been appointed as the Director-General of Technical Services, and Commissioner of Police (COP) Michael Netia Frempong is now the Director-General of Finance.
Other notable appointments include Commissioner of Police (COP) Asumadu Okyere Darko as Director-General of PPSB, Commissioner of Police (COP) Iddi Lansah Seidu as Director-General of Welfare, and Commissioner of Police (COP) Faustina A.K. Andoh-Kwofie as Commandant of the GPCSC in Winneba. Commissioner of Police (COP) Joseph Oklu Gyamera has been assigned as Director-General of Legal and Prosecution, while Commissioner of Police (COP) Peter Baba Atiniak will serve as Director-General of PID.

New regional commanders and operational leadership
The reshuffle also brings changes to various regional police commands, with new leadership aimed at improving operational efficiency.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) David Agyeman Adjem has been named Director-General of Administration, while Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Vance Gariba takes over as Director-General of Operations.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Sebastien Atsu Wemegah has been appointed as Director-General of ICT, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Duuti Tuaruka will now serve as the Regional Commander for the Ashanti Region.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Eric Ken Winful has been designated as Director-General of NAPD, while Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Gabriel Prince Waabu takes charge as Director-General of MTTD.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Arhin Kwasi Annor has been assigned to oversee Security Development, and Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Frederick Kofi Blagodzi now serves as Director-General of Human Resource Development. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Frank Abrokwah assumes the role of Deputy Director-General of CID, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Francis Kwame Tsidi leading the Western Regional Command.
Further appointments include Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Abraham Acquaye as the new Central Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Yao Dogbey Tettegah taking charge of another regional command, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Wisdom Akorli leading the Volta Region.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joshua Coppson will serve as the Upper West Regional Commander, while Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Wisdom Lavoe takes over in the Northern Region.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi has been appointed as Director of Public Affairs.
This reshuffle is part of broader efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance law enforcement effectiveness across the country.
The IGP has assured the public that these changes will improve oversight and reinforce the police service’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
