Black Queens coach Nora Hauptle eyes WAFCON success

Head coach of the Black Queens, Nora Hauptle is focused on succeeding with the female national team of Ghana despite interest from other countries.
The Swiss trainer has been attracting interest from rivals following her outstanding run with the Black Queens, leading the team back to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and only missing a place at this summer’s Olympics following defeat to Zambia.
Since taking over as Ghana coach, Hauptle has lost only two matches while winning nine and drawing one.
Zambia were interested in the Black Queens coach after the team’s spirited display in Ndola during the Olympic Games qualifiers.
However, Hauptle discloses that she has a mission with the team and wants to achieve her goals with Ghana.
“I’m the Ghana national team coach. Of course, it’s an honor when other countries are asking for me, but I know where I belong,” she said during the team’s preparation in Accra ahead of their friendly against Japan.
“I started here with a mission. I have a fantastic squad. I have a very good human relationship with my players. So I’m committed here.
“The Mission Volta, the next step is to succeed at WAFCON. I’m willing to fulfill my job here. And besides that, it’s not in my mind.
“But of course, that means that we are not doing things wrongly when there are such demands around,” she added
The Black Queens have left Ghana for Tokyo ahead of the game at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium on July 13, 2024.
