A vision for the future: ICT lab and resource centre

At the heart of the celebration was the unveiling of the AMOSA 2001 Legacy Project: the construction and resourcing of a state-of-the-art ICT Lab and Resource Centre for the school.

Valued at GH₵954,000, the project will include a fully furnished computer lab with high-speed internet, a server, projector, and other modern educational tools—all backed by extensive civil works to provide a conducive learning environment.

Mr. Joseph Baffoe, President of the AMOSA 2001 Year Group, delivered a heartfelt welcome address, where he articulated the urgent need for such a facility.

He cited the school’s growing student population and the strain on its limited digital infrastructure as a call to action.

“This project is not just about bricks and machines. It’s about equipping the next generation with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world,” he emphasized.

Leadership, mentorship and endorsement

The launch was chaired by Ing. Mrs. Rita Ohene Sarfoh, Director of Engineering at the Ministry of Roads and Highways, who also served as moderator and mother of the occasion.

Her presence lent both technical gravitas and maternal warmth to the event.

She praised the group for their unity and foresight, and pledged her full support to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Adding a voice of social development and advocacy, Mrs. Vivian Fiscian, a renowned child and development expert, called on alumni across generations to follow the example of AMOSA 2001. She stressed the importance of rebranding the school to remain competitive and relevant in a fast-changing global educational landscape.

The Headmistress of Aggrey Memorial A.M.E. Zion SHS and AMOSA Global President, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah, also graced the occasion, offering their solidarity and appreciation for the group’s initiative.

Fundraising momentum builds

A major highlight of the evening was the lively fundraising segment, led by charismatic media and creative professional Mr. Yoofi Brew.

Through humor, inspiration, and heartfelt appeals, he ignited a wave of generous contributions and pledges from attendees.

The spontaneous spirit of giving underscored the strength of the Aggrey Memorial alumni bond and marked a promising start to the campaign.

Symbolism and a new era of purpose

In a vibrant close to the evening, colourful balloons were popped in unison—symbolizing not just celebration, but the breaking of old limits and the emergence of new possibilities.

It was a fitting end to a night filled with purpose, unity, and an unwavering desire to give back.

As the AMOSA 2001 group presses ahead with its ambitious Legacy Project, the passion and commitment witnessed at the launch serve as a powerful reminder: that old students, united by a shared heritage and driven by a common vision, can indeed change the destiny of their alma mater—and inspire a generation in the process.
