The winner, whose work spans more than five decades, has become a symbol of resilience and excellence in farming.

48-year-old Osman Kadiri from the Greater Accra Region was named First Runner-up, while 63-year-old Charles Gyato from the Oti Region emerged as second runner-up.

Madam Grace Owusuaah was honoured as the National Best Female Farmer 2025. All three received cash prizes in recognition of their exceptional contributions to Ghana’s agricultural development.

The awards were presented by President John Dramani Mahama, who praised the winners for their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to national growth through farming.

After receiving his award, the Overall Best Farmer, Adusei, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.

He pledged to continue collaborating with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to improve the livelihoods of farmers and support initiatives aimed at modernising the agricultural sector.

The recognition of an 82-year-old farmer as the nation’s best serves as a reminder of the vital role farmers play in Ghana’s development and the importance of investing in the agricultural sector for future generations.

The ceremony formed a major highlight of this year’s National Farmers Day celebrations, which honour the critical role farmers and fishers play in ensuring food security and sustaining Ghana’s economy.
