Ghana has established an 11-member Ministerial Committee to oversee preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The committee, composed of key government officials, sports administrators, and technical experts, will coordinate efforts to ensure the country is fully prepared for the tournament.

The team’s mandate includes infrastructure readiness, logistics, player welfare, and collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to strengthen national team performance.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, officially inaugurated the committee at Jubilee House on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, urging members to perform their duties with integrity, diligence, and a strong sense of responsibility.

He emphasised that careful coordination would be essential as the country gears up for the tournament.

This move reflects Ghana’s commitment to excelling on the international stage and ensuring that both players and fans have a seamless World Cup experience.

The members include:

  • Stan Xoese Dogbe – Office of the President

  • Kofi Adams – Sports and Recreation

  • Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • George Opare Addo – Youth Development

  • Yusif Jajah – Deputy Minister, Tourism and Culture

  • Ampem Nyarkoh – Deputy Minister, Finance

  • Kurt Okraku – President, Ghana Football Association (Chairman)

  • Elizabeth Yankah – Deputy National Security Coordinator

  • Abedi Pele – Former Black Stars Captain

  • Wilhelmina Asamoah – Chief Director, Ministry of Youth and Sports

  • One representative yet to be named

The government has also allocated GH¢150 million to support the Black Stars’ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, reflecting its commitment to ensuring the national team is well-prepared for the global stage.
