The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested a former Chief Executive Officer of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Edwin Provencal, at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

According to reports, the former BOST CEO, Edwin Provencal, was apprehended at the airport on Monday, November 10, 2025.

The arrest is reportedly linked to ongoing investigations into alleged financial irregularities during his tenure at the state-owned oil company.

EOCO officials are said to have acted on credible intelligence suggesting that the former BOST boss had been under scrutiny for alleged procurement breaches and possible mismanagement of funds.

The investigation forms part of the agency’s broader mandate to combat economic and organised crimes in the country.

Provencal had been placed on a stop list as part of ongoing investigations into activities that occurred during his tenure at BOST.

BOST, a key institution in Ghana’s petroleum supply chain, has in recent years faced public scrutiny over financial management and operational efficiency.

The company has, however, maintained that it continues to cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure accountability and transparency.

The former CEO is expected to be questioned extensively by EOCO officials in the coming days as part of efforts to establish the full scope of the alleged infractions.
