The Bono Regional Police Command has begun a full-scale investigation into the suspected murder of 27-year-old Haggar Nyorkpatey, who was tragically found dead on her farm at Yaw Wusukrom, a farming community near Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District.

According to police sources, the deceased woman—who was seven months pregnant—was killed on Thursday, November 6, 2025, on a farm.

Preliminary police investigations indicate that her throat was slit with a sharp object, and blood clots were found in her mouth and ear canal.

Investigators also observed a foamy substance mixed with blood around her neck, suggesting she may have struggled before her death.

In a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Regional Public Relations Officer, police said a 57-year-old man, Charles Asante, reported the incident.

According to him, “the woman, his younger brother’s wife, left for her farm around 8:30 a.m. and did not return.”

Community members later organised a search and discovered her lifeless body lying on the farm.

Police officers who arrived at the scene confirmed that the victim was pregnant and sustained severe neck injuries. She was reportedly dressed in a multi-coloured dress and blue trousers with white stripes at the time of discovery.

The body has since been deposited at the Dormaa-Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while investigations continue to uncover the motive behind the murder.

“Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for this crime,” the police statement added.
