Republic Bank donates to National Cardiothoracic Centre

Republic Bank supports critical healthcare with a generous donation to Ghana’s leading heart centre

Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC has reaffirmed its commitment to community well-being by donating GHS50,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

This gesture underscores the Bank’s dedication to supporting critical healthcare initiatives in Ghana, aligning with its ‘Power to Make a Difference (PMAD)’ Corporate Social Responsibility initiative and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3), Good Health and Well-Being.

A delegation from Republic Bank, led by Mr. Frank Lawoe, Chief Risk Officer, presented the donation to the National Cardiothoracic Centre, where the team met the Director of the Centre, Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah.

The team included Mrs. Genevieve Aboney, Head of Marketing and Communications, Ms. Claudia Adu-Koranteng, and Ms. Akosua Akom, from the Marketing and Communications Department. The Director of the Centre, Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah, and the Centre’s Administrator were present to receive the donation.

Dr. Entsua-Mensah gave a brief overview of the Centre’s critical role in providing specialised cardiac care and highlighted the importance of the donation in supporting life-saving interventions.

He expressed profound gratitude to Republic Bank for its timely contribution, noting its potential to enhance the Centre’s capacity to serve more patients.

Mr. Frank Lawoe emphasised the Bank’s commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives that directly impact lives.

“At Republic Bank, we are driven by our mantra as a ‘Bank with a Heart.’ This donation reflects our dedication to improving access to quality healthcare and supporting institutions like the National Cardiothoracic Centre that make a tangible difference in our communities,” he stated.

Mr. Lawoe also pledged to relay Dr. Entsua-Mensah’s insights to the management of the Bank to explore further avenues for collaboration.

This donation is part of Republic Bank’s ongoing efforts to foster meaningful community impact, building on its legacy of supporting education, health, and sustainable development across Ghana.

By investing in the National Cardiothoracic Centre, Republic Bank continues to demonstrate its commitment to creating a healthier and safer future for all Ghanaians.
