Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has called on African countries to draw inspiration from Ghana’s thriving youth innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Osman Ayariga made the appeal during a panel discussion on Youth Innovation in Future Energy Technologies at the Youth Energy Summit (YES!) held in Cape Town, South Africa. The summit, which runs alongside the prestigious Africa Energy Forum, is dedicated to empowering young professionals, graduates, and entrepreneurs within the energy sector.

In a Facebook post reflecting on his participation, the NYA CEO Osman Ayariga stated, “Ghana has created the enabling environment for youth innovators and entrepreneurs to thrive. The rest of the continent should emulate the success story of Ghana!”

The Youth Energy Summit (YES!), held under the theme “Tomorrow’s World”, brings together dynamic youth leaders, energy experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore sustainable and youth-driven solutions for Africa’s energy future.

The event is part of a larger vision to electrify the continent by engaging 10% of Africa’s one billion people in the energy conversation.

The summit also seeks to build a network of 100 million people by 2035—fostering job creation, grassroots involvement, and cross-border knowledge exchange within Africa’s vast and largely untapped energy sector.

Osman Ayariga’s remarks position Ghana as a continental trailblazer in supporting youth-led innovation, particularly in the face of the continent’s critical energy needs and ongoing transition to renewable and sustainable power sources.

His presence at the summit reinforces Ghana’s commitment to developing homegrown talent and nurturing the next generation of African energy leaders.

The Africa Energy Summit 2025 brings together visionary leaders, international partners, and key stakeholders to address one of Africa’s most pressing challenges: universal access to reliable, sustainable power.
