Popular Ghanaian musician cum socialite, Sam Safo popularly known as Showboy, has issued a fiery warning to University of Ghana, Legon students, claiming they will fail for not booking him to perform at this year’s Pent Hall Week celebration.

The controversial artist, known for his outspoken personality and bold statements, took to social media to express his disappointment over being left out of one of Legon’s most anticipated hall week events.

In a post that has since gone viral, Showboy, also known as 2hype Gang CEO, lamented that despite his influence and consistent contributions to Ghana’s entertainment scene, the organizers of Pent Hall Week 2025 ignored him.

“Ye Blow” hitmaker questioned why the organisers decided to book a Nigerian artiste, Mayorkun, to perform, while he, a Ghanaian artiste, was not contacted for the show.

“I am in this country, but you didn’t book me. Instead, you have booked someone from Nigeria. I’m upset about this, and now you’re telling me to come perform for free,” he said.

This statement has sparked heated reactions across social media platforms like Twitter (X), Instagram, and TikTok, with many users divided on whether Showboy’s message was just comic relief or a serious curse.

The Pentagon Hall Week, celebrated annually at the University of Ghana, is a highlight on the student calendar, drawing massive attention from across Accra.

It features top artists, DJs, and influencers, making it one of the hottest campus events in Ghana. Many fans had anticipated seeing Showboy live in Legon, considering his cult-like following and vibrant performances.

Some students and netizens, however, criticised his remarks, calling them unnecessary and uncalled for. Others rallied behind him, saying his absence from the event showed a lack of recognition for Ghanaian talents making waves abroad.

As the debate continues, it’s clear that Showboy’s rant has added more buzz to Pent Hall Week 2025, placing the event firmly in the spotlight. Whether or not his “exam curse” manifests, one thing is certain – the drama surrounding Legon’s campus events is far from over.
