The Police Command in the Bono Region has successfully rounded up fifty-four (54) suspects in a series of targeted swoop operations aimed at curbing illegal drug peddling, drug use, and robbery-related criminal hideouts within the region.
According to an official press release issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on December 22, 2025, the arrests form part of sustained efforts to eliminate criminal elements and ensure safer communities, particularly ahead of the festive season.
The intelligence-led operations, coordinated by the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) with support from operational teams, focused on known hotspots in areas including Abesim, Banda, Nkrankwanta, Odumase, Dumasua, Wenchi, and Dormaa.
The suspects, whose ages range from 18 to 45, include individuals allegedly involved in various drug-related offenses and other criminal activities. Notable among those arrested is Rev. Alex Kwaku Manu, aged 36, alongside others such as Adams Moro (32), Kwaku Kyere (40), Ata Opare (20), and Philip Quarcoe (29).

The police have indicated that the suspects have been arraigned before court and remanded into custody to assist with ongoing investigations. Exhibits linked to the alleged crimes were also seized during the operations.
