4 Crew members missing as inshore vessel sinks at Ada

An inshore vessel sunk in the marine waters of Goi in the Ada West District on Friday morning, leaving four crew members missing.
The missing crew consists of two Chinese nationals and two Ghanaians, who have yet to be located.
The vessel, which embarked from Tema, was carrying a total of ten crew members when it encountered trouble.
According to sources, a leakage was detected in a part of the vessel while it was at sea.
Despite the crew’s request to head offshore, the captain declined, leading to the unfortunate incident.
“We were in the vessel when we noticed the leakage, but the captain turned down our request to go offshore,” recounted one of the rescued crew members.
The crew comprised eight Ghanaians and two Chinese nationals. Fortunately, six of the crew were rescued by local fishermen from Goi, who were nearby when the vessel began to sink.
The fishermen were casting their nets when they heard cries for help, prompting their immediate response.
“We saw two of them holding on to a cork tied to a rope, so we rescued them before seeing the other four sailing in the sea, and we got them rescued,” explained one of the rescuing fishermen.
The residents of Goi have pledged to assist in the ongoing search efforts to find the remaining four crew members.
Authorities and local volunteers are continuing their search and rescue operations, hoping to locate the missing crew members as soon as possible.
