They are both currently in police custody.

The incident happened at New Ankasa, a community near Elubo in the Western Region.

The 12-year-old boy was accused of stealing GH¢200.

As a way to punish him, the two tied him with a nylon rope, stripped him naked and hanged him to the roof of a building and whipped him.

The two are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.

The police confirmed that the victim has received medical care and has been handed over to his father.

The Police Service assured the public of its commitment to safety and urged all citizens to report any suspicious or abusive behaviour to the nearest police station.

Meanwhile, the Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven individuals in connection with a robbery incident at Ashaiman Sakasska Park and Dagomba Junction in the Greater Accra Region.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a group of young men, armed with a weapon, attacked and robbed several victims. Items stolen during the incident include an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core, a backpack containing a Dell laptop and charger, a power bank, an Infinix Hot 40i smartphone, and an unspecified amount of cash.

Upon responding to the scene, the Police—with assistance from members of the public—apprehended two suspects, Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey.

Subsequent intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of two additional suspects, Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile (whose name is withheld), who were found in possession of the stolen backpack and Dell laptop with its charger.

Further investigations resulted in the arrest of Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile (name also withheld), who were found with the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03 Core.

In a statement issued on Monday, June 23, 2025, and signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Region, the Police confirmed that all seven suspects are currently in custody and assisting with ongoing investigations. They will be arraigned before court in due course.
